Pregnancy Pact

If you have been watching the news lately you have heard about the teens in Mass. regarding their "pregnancy pact".  This is, without a doubt, very disturbing to me.  I'm waiting to hear more about this topic but my initial impression is not a good one.

Why are these young girls taking pregnancy tests at their school? Why do they have a daycare at the school?  These young kids have no idea what they are doing...obviously.  Besides the fact that their mentors in the school system and their home have more than likely let them down we now have a problem to repair.

What will be the consequences for the girls and the men that got them pregnant?  Easy for the guys...statutory rape charges should be filed and the law should take care of them.  But the girls...this is not so easy.  If you want to take a hard stance against this you could do one of two options.  Because of their bad choice and complete lack of understanding that they are bringing an innocent human life into their drama, make them decide to either give these babies up for adoption to a loving, two parent home or tell them they will not receive Medicaid services if they keep these babies.  Plain and simple.  The other thing these girls need is some serious counseling and about 30 days at my house to see what goes into raising a family.

You and I both know that this will become a fad.  We will have more girls making pregnancy pacts throughout our country.  It's not going away.  These girls are searching for something they wont find in a fussy baby.  They need our prayers but a firm hand to guide their decisions in the future.  They'll get my prayers, but the firm hand will be vacant in their adult mentors, I'm afraid.
