I just got a call from Susan!  She sounded happy and tired at the same time.  The connection wasn't very good so I told her to just talk.  The bus broke down on the second day of her trip.  She really enjoyed the clogs and cheese in Holland (no big surprise there!).  She is in Paris, France today and got to drive by the Eiffel Tower.  They will be seeing it up close in personal in a couple of days.  She is taking lots of pictures as well.

Today in France she went to Reims and she was to visit the school house where General Eisenhower accepted the German surrender on May 7, 1945, one day before the final surrender was signed in Berlin.  She was also to see the statue of Joan of Arc and enjoy a small lesson in the French language.

I was so glad to hear from her.  I knew that she was probably extremely busy but our house has been somewhat quieter without Susan's laughter, conversation injections, talk-back (she is still a teenager), and eye rolls (yes, eye rolls).  I guess this is a glimpse of what it will be like when she moves out of the house...college is only 5 years away.  Stay away gray hairs!!!!! 

I hope to take the kids to the pool today for some fun.  They will be sad that they missed Susan's call.  They are all taking a nap right now and I'm trying to wade through my bedroom...why is it that our bedroom closely resembles a U Store It cubicle??  Something's just not right about that!
