P2P Day 2 and Flooding

Susan's second day in Holland will include going to the very famous flower market in Amsterdam.  The canal boats are a great way to explore Amsterdam.  The delagation will get a "canal cruise" to learn about the city from the water.

Almost everyone has read the Diary of Anne Frank.  Susan will get to see Anne Frank's house and learn how she and her family hid from the Nazis for years during WWII.  I must admit I am a bit jealous of all the historical places Susan is getting to go see.  I know that it will be a profound learning experience for her.

I am hoping to hear from Susan sometime tomorrow.  She will be in Belgium and her calling card will work.

As for the work being done here at home...sandbagging is still going on, I'm busy making baked goods and pulled BBQ pork sandwiches for the workers.  Paul is down hefting sand bags as I write this.  Our main goal is to keep our water station from shutting down.  If our water supply becomes contaminated we will be in big trouble.

The National Guard was called in yesterday to help.  Thanks to the men and women who volunteer for our country!

We are thinking about you and praying for you. Gerald was in Iowa last week. He said we really can't get a feel for how bad the flooding is from the pictures on the news.

I'm glad Susan was able to go on her trip!
