Horton scared my kids!

My husband was nice enough to take Elizabeth and Martin to the movies on Saturday so that I could have a little rest.  Paul took them to see Horton Hears a Who.  Unfortunately, my children were not impressed with the movie.  Paul said they were scared for certain parts and the humor was not at all age appropriate.

I think this is very sad considering that Martin is really into having Dr. Seuss stories read to him.  They are great beginning lessons in poetry and fun, creative story-telling.  His favorites are The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins and Gertrude McFuzz.  Coming in third is The Lorax.

The movie industry is really missing out on some good opportunities.  I'll be hesitant to let my younger kids see anymore movies in the theater.  I'll wait till they come out on DVD and check them out first for myself.  Why waste all that money on something I'm not sure the kids will enjoy?

My advice:  don't waste your money on Horton Hears a Who.
